Preparing and debriefing geography fieldwork: a scenario for open classroom dialogue around a core curriculum
Abstract
Over the last decades empirical findings have shown the positive impact of fieldwork on students’ geography learning. This study focuses on the design and evaluation of a scenario for fieldwork that supports geography teachers to structurally integrate it into their lessons. The scenario helps teachers to build up an open classroom dialogue during the preparation and debriefing of a fieldwork home assignment, by using a mind map as the central platform. First evaluations are promising, indicating the relevance, practicality and validity of the scenarioDownloads
