Coordinator of the Master – 2nd level – in Geographical Information Systems for the monitoring and management of the territory at the University of Florence. Coordinator of the Interdepartmental University Master - 2nd level - in Geographical Information Systems for the monitoring and management of the territory at the University of Florence and a member of the teacher training college of the Doctoral Schools of History (University of Firenze) and History, Literature and Territory (University of Cassino). Scientific responsible of LabGeo (Applied Geography Laboratory).  Member of the Scientific Committee CSAVRI (University of Firenze).

Researcher in Geography in 1980 and associate professor in 2000. Scientific coordinator for projects promoted by the Tuscan Regional Council: Geo-Environmental Atlas of Tuscany, 2006; Ca.Sto.Re - Historical Regional Cadastres, 2006-12);  ArCES - Digital Archive of Italian Scientific Expeditions and Colonial Cartography (2012-13); WetTus - Wetlands atlas of Tuscany (2012-13); ReGIS – Geographical Reporting and Monitoring System for Regional Policies about Social Inclusion and New Digital Citizenship (2013-14). S.C. for projects DEDALO - DEcisional DAshboard for the assessment of urban sprawl (2013) and Learning500 – Didactics for a New World (2013). S.C.for projects promoted by the Ministry for the Cultural Heritage and Activities (Cultural Identity Landscape Project and “Terre Certe” Project.A knowledge base for designing and protecting landscapes; MiBACT and SGI, 2012-13).

Geographical Information Systems applied to different fields of interest  from environmental monitoring to the historical assessment of a country; geography of environment and landscape; geography of population and mobility; historical geography; history of cartography; didactic studies in geography.
