ACADEMIC CAREER

Giuseppe Rocca teaches Human Geography and Heritage Geography (Faculty of  Humanities, University of Genoa) and Tourism Geography (Faculty of Humanities, University of Milan). He has held permanent or visiting research positions in Italy, France, the UK and Canada. He has carried out studies of spatial mobility of people, goods and information and the evolution of tourism in the Isle of Wight, Bath, Edinburgh and Québec. Between 2005 and 2008 he was an editor for the “Atlante Italiano delle Acque”. More recently, he has turned to the geo-historical analysis of heritage tourism and health tourism, while retaining a strong interest in methodology; see “Dal prototuristmo al turismo globale” (Turin, Giappichelli, 2013); “Il sapere geografico tra ricerca e didattica” (Bologna, Pàtron, 2001). In 2011, he delivered the final address at the A.Ge.I. National Conference (University of Milan).
