ACADEMIC CAREER

He teaches "GIS Applications and geographical methodology" and "Geography" at the Sapienza University of Rome, in the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy. He is National Councilor of the Italian Association of Geography Teachers (AIIG) and is the Vice-President of the Rome section. He is Editor in Chief of J-Reading (Journal of Research and Didactics in Geography), Member of the Scientific committee of the Journal "Semestrale di Studi e Ricerche di Geografia", Member of the Editorial board of the “Review of International Geographical Education Online (RIGEO)” and Reviewer of different international and national journals. He is President of the Degree course in Geographical Sciences for the Environment and Health, he is one of the two Scientific Responsible for the “GeoCartographic Laboratory” of the Department of Letters and modern Cultures. He has been the Scientific Responsible of many research projects and he has been Member of the Evaluation Unit of the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy. In 2011 he was awarded the "Italian Geographic Society" and awarded a plaque of the President of the Republic. In 2012 he won the selection among researchers under 40 of the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy, at the Sapienza University of Rome. In the last years he has obtained different prizes and awards for research, applications and methodological contributions.
