Professor in Geography and Organization of the mountain territory at Tuscia University of Viterbo, Department of Humanities, Communication and Tourism. Director of the Scientific Committee of the “Biblioteca 20” for Geography studies. Lecturer in Economic and Political Geography at the Libera Università Maria Ss. Assunta (LUMSA) – Rome. He headed several research institutes (Institute of Research, Economics and Society in Sicily (RES); Bank of Sicily Foundation; National Institute for Scientific and Technological Research on the Mountain). He coordinated numerous researches, e.g. the new edition of the Statistical Italian Mountains Atlas; the relationship between tourism and mountainous territory in Lazio; research on the interconnections between geographical reality and historical and legal order
